Software updates

On a managed deployment the software keeps itself current. When a new version is available, a Software updates card appears at the bottom of Settings → General — when nothing is waiting, there is no card and nothing to do.

When it installsAutomatically, on the coming Sunday at 02:00 in the deployment's own local time — unless you pick an earlier moment or press Update now. Each update also carries a mandatory-by date: it can be brought FORWARD to any time you like, never postponed past that date. That's how every deployment stays on supported, patched software.
What it feels likeThe assistant is unavailable for a few minutes while the update applies. If an error page appears during that window, wait ten minutes and open it again.
Your dataDocuments, settings, users and history are untouched. A safety backup is taken before every update.
If an update failsThe previous version is restored automatically and the card says so — the assistant keeps running on what it ran before, and the update retries later. Nothing needs rescuing.
What changedThe card shows the release's own notes next to the installed and available versions.

Self-hosted deployments outside the managed update channel don't show the card; updates there follow your own installation's process.
