Set up Discourse
Connect your Discourse forum to make community discussions searchable — each topic becomes a document with the opening post and the thread under it, tied to its category and participants. Read-only.
- In Discourse open Admin → API → Keys → New API Key: choose the user it reads as and the Read-only scope.
- Documents → Discourse, enter the forum URL, the API username the key was made for, and the key.
- Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.
The key reads the forum as its user — system sees everything including private categories; a normal user's key sees what they see. Make the key match what should be searchable.
