Set up Discord

Bring Discord server channels in as chat-log documents — each text channel becomes monthly documents of who said what, when. Direct messages are never read. Read-only.

The bot and its token

Create an application at discord.com/developers, open Bot and copy the token — and switch ON the MESSAGE CONTENT INTENT on the same page; without it Discord hands the bot empty messages. Invite the bot to your server with the View Channels and Read Message History permissions.

  1. Create the bot, enable the Message Content intent, and invite it to your server as above.
  2. Documents → Discord, paste the token; optionally list channels to sync only those.
  3. Choose access groups, Test, then Sync.

Months already synced stay searchable when history later scrolls out of the sync window. If documents arrive with only attachment stubs, the Message Content intent is off — the sync notes say so too.
